Formed
in the late 90's by guitarist Mark Anderson. Ditchwater
has been
surging in the Chicago Hard Rock scene since 2000. The band has always
contained a heavy yet melodic sound. Blending Metal guitars with Rock
melodies,
creating a explosive and memorable sound. After various line up
changes, the
band finally settled on a consistent roster of musicians. Joining
Anderson is Jason
Angone on drums, Eamon Skube on bass, Ken Weiss on guitar
and Mike
Loomis on vocals (who replaced vocalist Mike Meadows in
November of 2006
after Meadows left the band due to personal reasons).
The
band headed into Studio One in Racine, WI with Producer Chris
Djuricic
(Soil, November's Doom) in February of 2007. They recorded 2 songs
titled "This
Spell" and "Nothing To Lose". Mixed by Jason
Suecof(Trivium, Devil Driver, Chimaira) the 2 song promo
EP
delivers punishing riffs with insightful lyrics and hooks that will
strike a
chord with the listener.
The
recordings are a follow up to the bands first ever full length release
titled "Going
Forward Looking Back" which was released in September of 2006. The
album contained the track "It's Over" which is currently in
rotation on XM Radio Squizz Ch 48. The song has also received
airplay on
various stations (Radio and Internet) across the country. The track "Have
You Ever" was in the top 10 most requested songs on 106.9 The
Surge
in Renovo, PA throughout 2006. The video for the song "It's Over"
made it to the top 3 (out of 10,000 submissions) on the CBS TV The
Early
Show's "Living Room Live Contest" in the summer of 2006. The
video was shot in 2004 at Chicago's Metro in front of 1000 DW Fans!
.
In
January of 2007 the band released a iTunes exclusive album titled "Sacred
Relics". The album is a collection of demos taken from the bands
early
years. Consisting of tracks from 2000 & 2001, giving the listener a
glimpse
into where the band came from. A few of the tracks still remain in the
bands
live set to this day. A testament to the creative will this band has to
compose
songs that stand up after the passage of time.
Ditchwater
has opened for such national acts as Mudvayne, Soil, Powerman 5000,
Adema,
and Otep. The band has consistently toured The midwest (WI, IL,
IN, IA,
MN, MI, OH) as they gain a strong base one fan at a time. Never afraid
of
working stronger than the next guy, the band does not shy away from
building
their network from the ground up and generating a buzz with old fashion
hard
work and great tunes. Ditchwater strives on being able to deliver live
what you
hear on the CD, and then some!DSN Music is
proud to present several of Ditchwater's
most popular songs for digital download..
